The Magical Creatures of Feyrish Wood

If you have met me at any events over the last few years, you may have heard me speak of a desire to put together a book of some kind. Well the time has come, and I am now in the process of compiling the last five years worth of artistic creation into my first artbook. Expanding upon the lore I've built up, with the help of my dear husband, it marks a huge milestone as an artist.

The Magical Creatures of Feyrish Wood will follow Cornelius Grunkle, an adventurer who makes his way into the wood, where he meets Amber the Faun, Bracken the forest dragon and their many friends. With his notes, journal entries, and photographs, he catalogues a full year in the magical realm, with sketches and illustrations contributed by Amber herself. Sharing his experiences learning about the denizens of the wood, he tells of their comings and goings, festivals, and celebrations through the shifting seasons. 

I have never thought of myself as a writer, so this project has been quite the challenge. But is also a great joy to share this ever evolving magical world with you all, and to tell Amber's story. One of my favourite things about being an artist is introducing people to the creatures I have made, and telling them all about their natures, habitats, and personalities. Through this book, I will be able to do that on a much bigger scale. and I am so excited to make this happen.

I aim to self publish, and will be running a Kickstarter for the book later this year. It is very much an all or nothing project, so I will need to find enough souls who enjoy my particular brand of whimsical fantasy in order to make this a reality.
