Cottonsedge Twitcher

Found in wet peaty ground, during the summer season, cottonsedge seed heads form in fluffy white tufts. This is the ideal camouflage for the small burrowing creature known as the twitcher .Their long ears and tails end in tufts resembling the seed heads, and allow them excellent hearing, to alert them of predators while they scurry along, searching for their preferred snack, the Scottish midge.
